Movie-Fi-Cation Wrap-Up Part 1

……………………………………………………………

My movie education is underway and I have some

thoughts to share with you! So far there have been

some mixed reviews on the first five movies I have

watched and I’m sure that is how it will continue with

how grandly diverse the movie genres are on these three

lists. Hope you enjoy my first movie wrap up!

Field of Dreams

Field of Dreams ★★★★

I hadn’t seen this movie in years so there honestly

wasn’t a whole lot I remembered about it aside from the

famous quote “If you build it, he will come.” Even though

this movie made me miss baseball and sports in general

(thank you coronavirus) I thoroughly enjoyed every single

minute of this heartwarming tale and I don’t

think a smile ever left my lips.

Rebel Without a Cause

Rebel Without a Cause ★★★

I was very excited to check this movie out because, well,

James Dean. However, I am going to be the one with

the unpopular opinion here (seeing as how this movie

has an almost 5 star rating on Amazon Prime) and say

that this movie was okay. Not good, not amazing, just

okay. The 50s language wasn’t an issue for me and Dean

did a great job acting, however, I thought the storyline was

a little boring and slow. I even checked, on more than one

occasion, just how close to the end I was because it felt like

I had been watching this movie for hours. In the end I think

this movie is great if you want some background noise and

I don’t think it is a movie that everyone needs to see.

The Little Mermaid

The Little Mermaid ★★★★★

I don’t even think it is possible for me to find anything

bad to say about this movie. I absolutely love every minute

of this movie from the opening scene to the end. The

songs are all so catchy and you just cannot help but sing

along, the storyline is an amazing love story that gives me

all the feels (take notes Nicholas Sparks), and of course

there is Eric, the dreamiest Disney prince out there.

(I said what I said.) Definitely will never get tired of watching it.

Sixteen Candles

Sixteen Candles ★★★★

Warm-hearted, sappy, a little over dramatic at times, and

comedic. It is everything you can expect from a John

Hughes film and everything I want in my love life.

(Honestly, where is my hunky Jake Ryan? lol) In all

seriousness though I really enjoyed watching this movie

and it kept me laughing, smiling, and entertained

throughout the entire 1.5 hours. Definitely think it is a

movie everyone needs to see at least once, if nothing

else to be introduced to Long Duck Dong. *gong sound*

Citizen Kane

Citizen Kane

There had never been a time where this movie looked

all that appealing to me, but I figured, with it always

being toward the top of the list for the greatest movies

of all time, there had to be something extraordinary

about it. In this I was wrong. The movie itself is almost

3 hours long and the journey from the beginning of the

movie to the end is an extremely slow one. In fact, if I

wasn’t taking part in this Movie-fi-cation I would have

turned the movie off after 20 minutes of watching it. The

ending finally revealed to us who/what Rosebud is, but to

me the reveal was a major letdown. This is not a movie

that I plan on watching again and I don’t think it deserves

to be on any of these lists at all let alone towards the top.

Which movies on this list have you seen? Do you agree

with my ratings? Which movies off the lists do you think I

should watch next? Let me know in the comments!
